Summer is great, but sometimes it's not easy to find ways to stay cool. Some people spend immense amounts of money in effort to beat the heat. They may try going to water parks and building a pool in their backyard. What they don't realize is there are many affordable ways to keep cool this summer!

Here's a few of my favorite ways to keep cool:

1) Homemade Fruit Popsicles

Making fruit popsicles is extremely easy--and healthy! All you do is dice up some fruit, stick one toothpick in each, and freeze it! My favorite fruit for this is watermelon...it's very refreshing!

2) Refrigerator Tea

Many people make sun tea to stay cool, but what they don't know is it sun tea may contain harmful bacteria in it! To avoid this risk, I would recommend refrigerator tea! It's very simple (in my opinion, even easier than sun tea). All you do is fill a container with water, add the correct amount of tea bags (depending on the amount of water that is in the container) and put the container in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, depending on how strong you like your tea. Most people think you need hot water to steep tea, but this belief is completely false! I have tried it myself, and it works great!

3) Iced Coffee

Who wants a hot drink when it's already hot outside?! Try putting ice in your coffee! It's a great way to wake up and stay cool!

4) Refrigerate Your Chapstick & Lotion!!

I love this trick! It feels so good to put something cold and refreshing on after being outside for a while! For best results, use a minty chapstick. And ladies, try refrigerating your lipgloss too!

Also, you can refrigerate your lotion! As mentioned before, minty products work the best, so try using a minty lotion (you can find it at Walmart)!

5) Stay Hydrated!

During the summer, staying hydrated is a must. Drink plenty of water. Not coke. Not juice. Water.

6) Dress Right

One of the easiest and most crucial ways to stay cool is dressing right. Wear light colors, and avoid black at all costs. Black clothes absorb the heat, making you feel as if you are cooking in your clothes. Also, wear loose cotton clothes. This may seem obvious, but it's extremely important if you want to keep cool!

I liked these tips. #4 is awesome!! I will have to try it sometime.

With #3, the iced coffee, are we supposed to make the coffee hot and then put ice in it? But then the ice would melt, right??? Or should I refrigerate the coffee first for awhile before putting the ice in? I'm keen to try it!

Thanks! And you can refrigerate it first, but I usually just add a ton of ice to my coffee!
